Geno Taylor serves as the CEO/Founder of GVN Releasing, an innovative independent distribution company aimed to offer quality entertainment and multicultural narratives from emerging & established filmmakers. In addition, Geno serves as the Co-President of Luminosity Entertainment, a worldwide sales and distribution company founded in 2021, alongside Ellie Samaha, Daniel Diamond and Missy Valdez.

At Luminosity, Geno has partnered with Missy Valdez to co-produce upcoming comedy, Back on the Strip, starring industry powerhouses Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart and more. The film will be theatrically released by newly formed Luminosity Releasing and the remaining media through GVN Releasing. This film is the first of many to come from Luminosity Entertainment as they have already acquired new films for the upcoming year and established relationships and collaborations with names such as Ice Cube.

As Founder and President of GVN, Geno is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the company, protecting and implementing the mission statement, and creating and preserving theater and studio relationships. Labeled as an industry vet, Geno has utilized his 25-year career knowledge to establish a creative and professional relationship with Sony, acquire several independent films and successfully distribute them theatrically. These films include Beautifully Broken, I’m in Love with a Church Girl, starring Ja Rule and Adrienne Bailon; Despite the Falling Snow, starring Rebecca Ferguson and Charles Dance; Armed and London Fields, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Theo James and Amber Heard.

Prior to GVN, in 2004, Geno served as Founder and President of Polychrome Pictures, an entertainment and distribution company primarily focused on independent films and digital distribution. At Polychrome, Geno established critical relationships with Sony and Warner Brothers catapulting several collaborations. He went on to distribute over 200 movies with both Vivendi Universal and Warner Brothers including, Red Doors, Love, Ludlow, starring David Eigenberg and Lucy Goranson; A Perfect Fit, starring Adrian Grenier and Polly Draper; and Confessions of a Thug.

Prior to that, Geno began his career in 1996 with his film The Spartan, where it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, receiving praises. Following the film’s release, he spent three years trying to finance a cross-audience dark comedy produced and directed by African American filmmakers. He was the first producer to ever receive the support of the SBA in financing a feature length film for his film The Gristle. This led to a mutual partnership with the SBA to develop and finance future independent films.

In addition to Luminosity and GVN Releasing, Geno recently Co-Founded GVN Productions.

Geno attended Cal State Northridge where he studied Poli-Sci and Philosophy. Currently, Geno lives in Sherman Oaks, with his wife of twenty-five plus years and three children.
